About This Item

London, United Kingdom: Hutchinson, 2004. New book, 298 pages. The inspiring story of a German Jewish family named Frank which, like Anne Frank's family, and and estimated 25,000 other Dutch and other 'stateless' jews, dived under in Nazi occupied Holland during World War II, and unlike Anne's family, and thousands of others who were betrayed or discovered, miraculously survived. Both a history and a memoir, this painstakingly documented book, which relies on hundreds of hours of interviews and conversations with the surviving Franks, as well as years of background research, including numerous visits by the author to Holland, uses the Frank family as a prism through which to view and understand eighty years of European history, including the tragedy within a tragedy that was the Dutch Holocaust.. Hard Cover. As New/As New. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
