About This Item

Arcturus., 2016. Softcover. Very Good. Frankenstein: A Novel" (ISBN: 9781848373273): "Frankenstein: A Novel" is the classic work by Mary Shelley that gave birth to the science fiction and horror genres. This groundbreaking novel tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who, driven by a desire to conquer death, creates a living being from dead body parts. The creature he brings to life becomes a tragic and misunderstood figure, leading to a series of catastrophic events. Shelley's "Frankenstein" explores themes of scientific hubris, the consequences of playing god, and the alienation of the outsider. It remains a timeless and thought-provoking masterpiece that continues to captivate readers with its profound questions about ethics, responsibility, and the human condition. Crisp, clean, unread book with some shelfwear/edgewear. May have remainder marks, often with a black dot or similar mark, to the top or bottom edge of the book.

Synopsis

Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus is a Gothic novel written by Mary Shelley in 1818. The story revolves around Victor Frankenstein, a scientist who creates a monstrous creature and immediately regrets his actions, abandoning the creature to its own devices. The creature, seeking acceptance and revenge, terrorizes Victor and those he loves. Themes of ambition, ethics, humanity, and loneliness are explored through Shelley's vivid descriptions of the natural world and her characters' psychological torment. Frankenstein remains a classic of Gothic literature and a seminal work of science fiction. Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin wrote the first draft of her groundbreaking novel in 1816, while on a trip to Lake Geneva with her soon-to-be husband, poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, and poet Lord Byron. They were stuck indoors during famously known as the Year Without a Summer.

How can something be "used" and new and "first edition from 1831 but also SEALED in the original shrinkwrap"? You should learn what these words mean or include only factual information in your descriptions when selling things.
