About This Item

London: Faber and Faber, 1967 "The characters are out of Greek tragedy with a hero, Father Yánaros, who comes wild-eyed off the page. Like an Old Testament prophet he wrestles with Angels and the Devil in disguise, there is a captivating pleasure in reading a novel which deals head-on with the real social and religious problems of the day." - New Statesman. ". it is fundamentally concerned with permanent problems of life and living, with the agony of a soul in a brutal and inconsistent world. It is a powerful and disturbing novel of a deep, unquiet sincerity." - Church Times. ---------------------------------------- 254 pages ---------- Orders of $100.00 or more are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
