About This Item
Berkeley: Graduate Coordinating Committee (G.C.C.) :: Associated Graduate Students (A.S.C.), 1965. Ephemera. In April 1965, the University of California Berkeley Chancellor Meyerson canceled the scheduled ASUC vote to impose new criterion that would prevent the GCC from participating in the election. In response, the GCC encouraged students to vote in a "freedom ballot" and attend a rally. Their opposition, the ASC, responded by saying that the GCC campaign was a farce, claimed they were using their candidates' names without permission to conduct an opinion poll, and finally, encouraged students to wait to vote until the constitutional election. The handbills present reflect some of the back-and-forth between these opposing groups, event flyers for education reform, handbills for the freedom ballot, the SLATE forum & platform, and a FSM "Bill of Wrongs" handbill, amongst others. A couple items have some toning, "The Bill of Wrongs," handbill has some toning and edgewear, else all items are in very good condition.
