Type: Hardback Hardcover BCE Book in Very Good Condition with a Good Dust Jacket in Archival Protective Cover. A perceptive and entertaining look at France, its people, its culture, and way of life. De Gramont explains why the French are admired, detested, misunderstood, and unique. Binding of burgundy cloth with blind-stamped decoration on front, sharp and bright gilt lettering on spine. Clean and unmarked, no wear to extremities. Sewn binding tight & solid, square with sharp edges. Rough cut. Upper and lower edges of text block have scaattered spots. Gold endpapers. Pages quite clean and there are no markings of any kind, lightly toned. Jacket is generally clean with small amout of spotting along spine and upper edge, spine head and heel chipped and wrinkled, a small closed tear to upper front edge of spine head. 479 pages with index. 6 x 8.75 inches. 1969, G.
