Three first edition novels from Sue Grafton's popular 'Alphabet series', for which Grafton is best remembered. 'G is for Gumshoe' is the first US edition, while the other two are the first UK edition. In 'G is for Gumshoe', private investigator Kinsey Millhone uncovers a long-buried betrayal and faces her own mortality. 'H is for Homicide' follows Kinsey as she goes uncover to break up an insurance fraud ring in Los Angeles. In 'I is for Innocence', Kinsey is fired, and then hired by her attorney to solve a case, investigating the murder of an estranged wife. Sue Grafton (1940-2017) was inspired to write this detective series after a bitter divorce and custody battle. Sadly, Grafton died before she was able to finish the series, writing a total of twenty-five novels only, ending with ''Y' is for Yesterday'. In the publisher's original cloth bindings, with the original unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, cloth is in lovely condition. Marginal age toning to the pages of 'H is for Homicide' and 'I is for Innocence'; the pages to 'G is for Gumshoe' remain bright; all volumes have clean pages. All dust wrappers remain bright; dust wrapper for 'H is for Homicide' is in excellent condition. Shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine of the dust wrapper to 'G is for Gumshoe', with a little abrasion to the front of the wrap, and four small tape repairs to the reverse of the wrap. Significant tear to the spine and to the fold of the rear flyleaf to 'I is for Innocence', with tape repairs to the reverse of the wrap. Near Fine
