About This Item

The late Gatja Helgart Rothe was born in Germany and studied, lived and worked all over Europe and North and South America. She finally settled in New York, then in California in her later years. She worked in oil and jewelry making before making her mark with mezzotint, Mezzotint is a form of printmaking that was devised in the 17th century and practically abandoned 150 years ago. It is the most tedious and time consuming form of printmaking. This is her catalogue raisonne published in 1983. A 271 page book full of reproductions of her work. The book is quite large, almost 12 x 13 inches, and heavy. A beautifully bound book in fine condition.

About mark mcdonald

Book collector for over 30 years. I'm retired and ready to sell. I buy almost exclusively from estate sales and since I've lived in Dallas my whole life, I know the people and where to go. I am a low volume collector and seller and deal in higher quality books. I have a lot of signed and inscribed books. These signatures have not been officially authenticated, but I am confident in their authenticity so I will guarantee them in perpetuity if it can be reasonably demonstrated that the signature is incorrect. .
