This is a title in the publisher's Poetry and Fiction series. A novel set in the early 1970s as the golden age of the newspaper is drawing to a close. It is set in a small-town New England newspaper and the main character is an ambitious and eager college graduate who wants to start her career as a reporter there. After a while she is offered a chance to work at a big-city newspaper and leaps at the chance where she finds that there is a price for success in the larger world. By the author of "The Courage of Girls," "Home at Last," "The Very Rich Hours," and "Airs of Providence." 222p.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
