Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for collection blindstamp on the title page "The Forbes Magazine Collection". Book Condition: Fine. DJ: Near Fine; closed tear at rear upper tip. Maroon boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on spine. 320 pp 8vo. This is the biography of one of the greatest Victorian art dealers. Through the life of this singular person emerges a clear survey of the Victorian art scene. He was for many years the catalyst between the living artists of Western Europe and their patrons. A clean pristine copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
