DJ: Near Fine; NOT Price Clipped ($18.99); light bumping to tail. Blue paper over boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. 217 pp 8vo. On July 15, 1936 the U.S. Olympic team set off on the SS Manhattan bound for Berlin and Hitlerism. The Olympians were sheltered from the true horrors of the Nazi reign and saw only a movie set world. This is the incredible true story of basketball from its invention by Dr. Naismith in 1891 to the sport's Olympic debut in Berlin and the eclectic mix of people, events, and propaganda on both sides of the Atlantic that made it all possible. A clean very presentable copy.
