Adam and Charles Black. 1905 1st thus.. 9.0 x 6.5 inches. In green cloth covers with gilt to spine and front with black and grey border. Gilt top edge. In very good condition. Spine slightly bumped at ends. Neat inscription to front endpaper, dated 1938. Mild foxing to edges and endpapers. Else a clean and tight copy. 146 pp. With 16 colour plates. Alfred Austin was Poet Laureate of England and his garden writings are his finest work. Mostly prose with some poetry interspersed throughout. A new illustrated edition.
