London: Published at the Offices of "Country Life, 1918. Hardcover. Fair. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Folio. 460 pages, indexed. Hardcover bound in blue cloth. The binding is quite worn and stained but sound. There is a 2 inch tear on the right side of the headcap at the top of the spine. Rear hinge is starting, and the binding is a bit shaken. All edges gilt. A sound copy with secure hinges. Text is clean. tipped in color frontis. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos. SIgned on the half title by William Lanier Hunt. William Lanier Hunt (1906-1996) was the "Dean of Southern Horticulture." He donated land along the Morgan Creek in southern Orange County, NC to the North Carolina Botanical Garden and is now known as the Hunt Arboretum.
