London, Paris, New York & Melbourne: Cassell and Company, Limited, 1899. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Hubin, p. 322. Orange cloth binding with rolled edges; titled in gilt on the spine. Clean text; 382 pages; followed by a four-page list of "Important Works" and then a 16-page "Selected List" from the publisher. Decorative endpapers; top-edge is gilt. Opposite the half-title is a contemporary (1899) pencil signature. Small bookseller label on the front paste-down. Light wear; the spine has faded to a nice tan colour, but the gilt remains bright. A solid copy of an uncommon Pemberton title; in an archival plastic protector.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
