Dated from a copy held at the British Library. A complete and popular guide to gardening, with scientific as well as practical information on the management of the kitchen, fruit, and flower garden. Written by Robert Thompson of the Horticultural Society's Gardens. Illustrated with twelve fine coloured plates and wood engraving vignettes in text. Collated, complete.  Rebound in half calf binding over cloth covered boards with marbled edges and endpapers, gilt tooling to spine. Externally sound with shelf wear, rubbed to joints, spine, and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. Complete with twelve plates in colour and other wood engravings in text. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
