About This Item
(Subject: Colonial & Other Wars ) Giuseppe Garibaldi (1807 1882) was an Italian military and political leader. In his twenties, he joined the Carbonari Italian patriot revolutionaries, and had to flee Italy after a failed insurrection. He then contributed to the independence of Uruguay, leading the Italian Legion in the Uruguayan Civil War, and afterwards returned to Italy as a commander in the conflicts of the Risorgimento. This is the story of the Garibaldini, the men who were the protagonists of revolutions, wars of liberation and other political and social movements. (Published: 1979) (Publisher: Blandford Press) (ISBN: 0713709421) (Pagination: 236pp, numerous illustrations inc contemporary photos, maps, bibliography, index) (Condition: Good in d/w with faded spine.)
