About This Item
London: Chatto & Windus, 1943. Cloth. Good+. Second impression. 8vo. Original pink cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Spine cocked, spine ends bruised, heavy knock to top edge of bottom board. Edges foxed. Else, clean and tight. In George Plank's original pink and brown illustrated dust jacket: tatty and foxed, spine sunned, losses to head of spine and front panel, nevertheless Plank's cover design shines. A solid copy of this wartime edition of STW's short stories, many of which first appeared in The New Yorker. Good+/ good
