London: England Sterioviews, 1860. Early printing. Photograph. Very good condition. A scarce and important early photographer who came to the United States in 1859, "the first American views to be published abroad commercially, using a revolutionary shutter which improved the images depth of focus."* This arched albumen prints show the "Dock house" with ferry and West Point in the distance. The verso with descriptive text and monogram of an eagle over the words United States of America. The text states that this ferry is the link between the Hudson River Railway and West Point.
