About This Item

Carmel By The Sea, CA: Hestwood Studios, 1926. Near fine.. Absolutely stunning first edition by the print maker who was one of the teachers of Virginia Lee Burton. A most unusual production printed at his own studio, including a charming Art Deco inspired typeface. Rarely found in such nice condition. 12'' x 8.5''. Original cloth backed pictorial boards. Illustrated with bold '20s style black-and-white linoleum cuts featuring a pelican named Gawpy. Just a touch of cover soil.
