About This Item

Boston: Little Brown & Co., 1936. Nice copy of a book in its first printing. Signed by the author on half-title. Book itself in first is scarce. There are no other signed firsts of this book presently on the market and very few firsts of any kind. Unmarked, tight and square. Well bound in three colors of green, gold and red. Light wear at head of spine but no fraying. Jacket is clipped at head of front flap but $ sign evident and what looks like the bottom of a 2. Red portion of jackets spine lightly sunned. Jacket has been remarkably well preserved given its age. Only light wear at edges. Novel was considered by author as his favorite among his books. Based loosely on the career of General Sir Douglas Haig. In mylar. . Signed by Author. First American Edition. Hardccover. Very Good Plus/Very Good Plus to Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
