Norwalk, Connecticut: Easton Press, 2002. Limited Numbered First Edition. Full Leather. Fine/No Jacket as Issued. A handsome blue full leather Limited First Edition signed by the author, James D. Watson, probably one of the most famous scientists of modern times and co-winner of the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine for his important discovery of the structure of DNA. With gold-gilt edges and cover designs, moire silk endpapers and bound-in silk bookmark. In fine unread condition. Numbered 724 of 1,175 Limited Edition copies. Includes the Publisher's Note and Certificate of Authenticity from Easton Press. Dr. Watson became director of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Long Island, New York in 1976 and is currently its president. In 1989 he was appointed Director of the NIH National Center for Human Genome Research, a position he resigned in 1992 after successfully launching a worldwide effort to map and sequence the human genome. The sequel to Dr. Watson's earlier book, "The Double Helix.

Synopsis

James D. Watson is president of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York. A member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society, he has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the National Medal of Science, and, with Francis Crick and Maurice Wilkins, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for 1962.
