S.J. Clarke Publishing Co.. Good. 1925. Hardcover. E--Four volume set, First edition, 1925, in green cloth covers. Gilt spine lettering and marbled closed edges. Rubbing to covers, especially along fore edges and corners. Volumes I and II have chips and tears at spine ends with a little loss. Volume II has a 1 1/2" tear in front joint at spine tail. Volumes III and IV have chips and tears at spine ends with a bit more serious loss at the spine head of volume IV and a 1" tear at the spine head of volume III. Bindings sound but the hinges are beginning to weaken, especially the back hinge on volume III. Slight smoke odor. Text clean with mild age toning, mostly in the margins.
