About This Item
Paris, "Le Livre", E. Chamontin, 1926, crown 8vo, pp. (8) 310 (3); folded printed wrappers. - A little loss of paper at foot of spine, and slight stain at the lower wrapper; else very fine. - 'Le Génie Latin' was first published in 1913; this is the bibliophile edition, illustrated by Carlègle with 32 original wood-engravings, a medium in which the illustrator excelled. Total edition of 450 numbered copies (20 on japan, 25 on Holland Van Gelder, 375 on vélin d'Arches, plus 30 copies 'hors commerce' for collaborators, printed on name, and on different papers). This is one of these 30 copies, printed on imperial japan paper, for Marguerite Caille-Baud, and it contains loosely tipped-in an extra proof of a woodcut and a smaller wood-engraved vignette, printed on vélin d'Arches. - [Heavy book; a little extra postage will be charged for all destinations].
