Bound in teal paper-covered boards, lettering stamped on spine in gilt. In the price-clipped illustrated dust jacket that shows slight edge-wear and a light smudge on rear panel. Huxley's novel that centers on the assistant to a renowned scientist. The scientist is brilliant in his field, but incompetent in the practicalities of life, perhaps drawing on his brother Julian Huxley, or his grandfather, Thomas Huxley.
