About This Item
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. First edition, first issue with page 497 numbered. 736 pp. Original red cloth with gilt lettering. Some wrinkling to cloth on spine and light soiling to back boards. Square spine. Some tanning to front and rear boards. Partial DJ with original cutout of DJ front and DJ spine placed over blue paper to create complete wrap. A semi-autobiographical novel declared "unfit to read" for its sexual content by the Society for the Suppression of Vice, who asked the publishers to "discontinue its circulation"; they basically complied and the book didn't receive wide distribution until 1923. Additional photos available upon request.
