His journals and correspondence constitute one of the chief sources for the history of the West from 1745 to 1775." Octavo: 370 p. with 4 plates, including the 2-panel map. Original blue cloth binding, with gilt titles. Partially unopened. The spine is a bit darkened; else very good or better. Clark and Brunet 292.
