About This Item

Paris: Societe de Femmes Bibliophiles, Cent Une, 1930. No. 33 of 101 copies made for members. All of the watercolor plates are fine but one that has paint splatter on it apparently from the coloring process. The pages have some mild spotting and fade not affecting the plates. The spine paper on the portfolio is chipped away, the portfolio worthy of restoration. Slipcase in poor condition. None-the-less an important and rare piece. No. 33 of 101 copies made for members. Folio. Sheet size 15 1/3". (viii) 9-104 pp, colophon. Printed on Velin blanc Rives. Typography by Maurice Darantiere. Vignettes by Yvonne Preveraud and 36 aquarelles by Maurice Sand, reproduced by Daniel Jacomet in color by pochoir (?); 33 of these are tipped-in each on a single sheet with titles printed in script. There are two sets of decorative design sheets laid in: seven in black, four in red partially printed. Housed in a portfolio with covers in pink and gilt in the style of cartonnage romantique, in a slipcase of decorated paper-covered boards.
