Four parts in one volume, folio (325 x 218 mm; 12 3/4 x 8 5/8 in.). Engraved title, 11 double-page engraved maps and 26 engraved plates (including 4 double-page). Contemporary vellum, traces of leather ties;. FIRST EDITION: "one of [Cluverius'] first major publications and in it the life of the tribes of ancient Germany were described... The popularity of 'Germaniae antiquae' in particular was, no doubt, due to the large folio engravings of ancient ancestors in their regional dress" (Stephanie Moser, Ancestral Origins: The Iconography of Human Origins, Ithaca: Cornell UP, 1998, p. 86).
