Pages clean and tight.. Striped boards with leather spine and corner tabs. Spine has gilt artwork ad lettering. 4 preliminary leaves, xi-xxiii, [1], 3-695 pages : 112 plates (including portraits, facsimiles) on 56 leaves. Rare first edition of this massive and well-researched history of erotic literature. Does have shelf appeal (just be sure it's a high shelf) as-is but could be easily repaired.
