London: Chapman and Hall, 1933. First edition, first printing. Published by Chapman and Hall in London, 1933. This is a near fine copy. Issued without a dust wrapper, the quarter-blue buckram and pink paper-covered boards are bright. Slightly toned at the edges, and with some slight separation at the corners. Marginally bumped at the spine tips. The original white title label is slightly toned and has a slight chip missing; the spare is pasted onto the rear paste down. This copy is the true first issue, with pages 119/20 present. It is in near fine condition and free from inscriptions. Betjeman's second book.
