Philadelphia: Dorrance & Company, Inc., 1944. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. First edition of this mystery tale told in rhyme. Tan cloth with gilt lettering. The orange and black jacket depicts a leaping horse with a female rider. Jacket is priced at $1.00. Moderate fading to the spine and a small loss of material at the base of the spine - very good. Included is an ALS from Long to a Miss Alexis Smith of the Screen Actors' Guild asking for her recommendation and consideration of the book as a screen presentation. The letter is dated September 17, 1951 and signed William Henry Long. Scarce - no other copies located as of the time of this entry.
