About This Item
London : Herbert Jenkins Limited A very good copy of the 9th UK printing, published circa 1931, in fair to good dustwrapper. The orange cloth binding has black titles and black silhouette illustration to front board and spine. It is sound and clean. There are a few pale marks on the front board and the spine is slightly paler than the boards. There is light pulling to spine ends and light wear to corners which are slightly turned. Contents are very clean. There is a small piece missing from the side margin of page 11 and a small repaired edge tear at the bottom of p 61. 6 pages of adverts at the rear. The wrap is not price clipped. The spine is darkened and there is some grubbiness to the panels and folds. There is a piece missing from the middle of the spine above the price label (price 2/6). General edge nibbling with a little loss, particularly around the folds and most noticeable at the top of the spine. On the verso there is a lot of browning and spotting.

About E C Books
E C Books is a small online bookselling business, specialising in pre 20th century works:natural history, science, history, and travel, aiming for rarer and more unusual books. Our largest stock area is Natural History, where we have a good range of books from the 1700-1800's, many finely illustrated. Other areas include children's books, particularly late 1800's-early 1900's - again illustrated; and literature pre 1900.When you order books from us we ensure that they are properly packed to protect condition, and we always use recorded or 'signed for' postal services for more secure delivery. Please note that we have recently moved to the beautiful Orkney Islands, where we intend to open a bookshop over the next year. Because of our location we cannot guarantee 'next day' delivery but we will get your purchase to you as quickly and safely as we can. Please note that the buyer is responsible for the payment of any tax or duty on import.
