Hard cover in very good condition with black boards and gold gilt spine lettering. Mild shelf wear to the boards, some faded spots on/near spine. On front board there is ghost of what appears to have been a 3 1/2"" x 4"" pasted panel of a musical score or same in gilt that has flaked off. Top stained red with several spots washed out. Interior text block clean & tight; no writing; no markings to note. Dust jacket in very good condition; not price clipped. * From the jacket, ""...The story of two very different women contending with themselves and with each other, this is as well a short course in opera....""
