A first printing hardcover with dust jacket. Published by Farrar, Straus, Giroux, 1979. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped, the original price of $9.95 appears in the upper corner of the front flap. No writing, no highlighting, no former ownership marks. There is some light foxing spots to the edges of the text block. This is a collection of five essays that had appeared previously in The New Yorker. The five essays included are; 'Giving Good Weight', 'The Atlantic Generating Station', 'The Pinball Philosophy', 'The Keel of Lake Dickey' and 'Brigade de Cuisine'.The dust jacket has been protected by a clear, removable cover. As is the case for all of our listings, the attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory, not a stock photo.
