This is an inscribed copy of "GLEANINGS From the Writings of Virginia Wainwright Written between the age of 7 and 17" - A Book for Old and Young with its original dust jacket. 1920 1st edition; Smithsonian Press; Boston. The book features a frontispiece portrait of Wainwright, and an inscription on the front end paper written by Wainwright's mother. "A Collection of Poems, Stories, Essays, Anecdotes, Descriptions, Etc." Please see the photos for the complete list of contents.
Condition:
Light tanning along the top edge of the covers. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Foxing on the half title page (and the facing blank end paper), the frontispiece, title page, and copyright page...the rest of the pages are clean and appear unread with no issues found. The author's mother has written an inscription in ink on the front end paper. Overall the book is in Very Good condition. The dust jacket has tanning to the covers; heavy tanning to the spine; small pieces missing along the top edge, and at the flap corners and top/bottom edges of the spine....overall the jacket is in Good- condition. (The dust jacket comes with a clear protective sleeve - not shown.)
