About This Item
Augusta: Homan and Manley, 1852. First Edition. Hardcover. lacks front free endpaper, else very good. Octavo; pp; 404; frontispiece portrait; brown cloth, gilt, decorated in blind. Drew's memoir of a trip to London and the Crystal Palace via Montreal and Quebec. A valuable account of London and the Exhibition. This is a curious copy. It is adorned with a naive unsigned color pencil drawing of a sailing ship on the first preliminary leaf. It has had three previous owners at least; an A. M. Savage, "teacher of music in Bridgton Maine"; "H. J. Collins, South Truro Mass" (Cape Cod) and Marie D. Norman? her comment, "Came with the House'. This is a travel book that has travelled.
