About This Item

London: A. & C. Black, Ltd. ,. Very Good+ in Good+ dust jacket. 1927. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine blue cloth-covered boards with blind-stamped decoration to the front board and spine, with bright gilt titling to the spine. In the original publisher's pictorial dust-jacket - quite scarce with a d/j. Some chipping/small tears with loss to the corners, and a few 'closed' tears/tinting to the edges, etc. The d/j is price-clipped to the front corner flap, but the d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and now looks near VG. First Edition. Top edge dark blue, and the remaining page fore-edges have some very light speckled spotting (foxing). Published in Blacks' well known series of books on various English counties with scenes, both rural and of towns depicted, in this case, by the popular painter and illustrator George F. Nicholls. Some very light pale scattered spotting to the prelims and last few pages, and some VERY occasional spots on an odd page here and there, but overall the book is internally FINE with NO Inscriptions or other Marks. (x) + 208 pp + (2pp = Adverts). 24 full page, full colour plates, including the Frontispiece - all in fine condition. 1 b/w Map. A Very nice, very clean copy in the scarce dust-jacket. See Images. ; Black's Popular Series of Colour Books; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
