About This Item
1996 softcover as pictured. This is not a book about embroidery. It is a wonderful look at depictions of the Goddess in eastern European folk embroidery. Goddess worship predates Christianity but was essentially stamped out with the spread of the patriarchal western religions. These are designs that nevertheless survived, some to current times. The author presents many examples along with an extensive text explaining the different motifs. Binding is firm, spine uncreased. Covers are rubbed with gently curling corners. Signed and dated by author on FFEP. Text appears clean and unmarked. Would be as good except for shelf wear to covers and edges. Your purchase helps support our small village library. s OB4
