San Francisco: The Greenwood Press, 1989. Pamphlet. 16p., staplebound pamphlet in 8.5x6 inch frenchfold wraps, a fine copy, one of a run of 500. A critique of "the afflictions of modern man: false collectivity, false subjectivity.." the latter defined here as "striving of the individual who wishes to glorify himself" &c &c. Lownthal an early member Frankfurt School, emigrated 1934, wound up professor of sociology at UC Berkeley.
