Altobello Sallcato: Vinegia:, 1584 Two volumes in one. pp. 24, 576, 17; 143. Small 12mo. 150 mm. Full vellum binding with leather labels; stamped in blind on the front board with the arms of George Matthew Fortescue (1791-1877) of Boconno in Cornwall, and Dropmore in Buckinghamshire. A famous book collector and member of Parliament for Hindon (1826-1831) and a Captain in the 25th Regiment. This armorial stamp is easily confused with Hon.
