About This Item

MP3 Audio CD. By the scriptwriter of the very famous She Stoops to Conquer, The Good-Natured Man is an entertaining tale of ill-advised altruism, mistaken identity and illicit love affair. Will Honeywell, The Good-Natured Man, pierce through the shams and chicanery of his sincerity? Will Leontine and Olivia's secret rendezvous be divulged to everyone? And Lofty has other plans has on his mind.

The Good-Natur'd Man is an act by Oliver Goldsmith drafted in a comical style and shown at the Covent Garden Theatre. It was an average popularity for Oliver and the published adaptation of the stage play was famous with the flattering audience. It was published at the time when Hugh Kelly's False Delicacy was acted at Drury Lane Theatre, still, Hugh?s success was more inimitable than Oliver?s. Garrick disputed The Good-Natur'd Man, probably for the reason that the play is a response to False Delicasy.

Oliver Goldsmith was an Irish author, dramatist and poet, who is mostly known for his, The Vicar of Wakefield, his idyllic verse The Deserted Village and his theatricals. He was known for his highly noteworthy Good-Natur'd Man and She Stoops to Conquer. He is presupposed to have composed the historical stories for the little ones as The History of Little Goody Two-Shoes.

He was depicted by fellow writers as likely to be begrudging, an affable and impulsive distorted demeanor who always wanted to travel to the United States though he was not able to do so for he did not arrive on the scheduled time. He became a staff of Thornhill Grammar School, afterward at basing Squire Thornhill - in The Vicar of Wakefield - on the advocacy of Sir George Savile and apparently associating himself with the prominent scientist Rev. John Mitchell, whom he perhaps met from London. John truly reminisced good acquaintance, which Oliver obviously resonated in his works.
