About This Item
The First UK printing published by John Lane and the Bodley Head, London in 1915. The correct First UK issue has the London publisher details stated before the American publisher details on the lower title page. The BOOK is in VERY GOOD++ or better condition. The binding is tight and the book is complete. There is mild pushing to the spine tips with a few nicks. There are a few light rubbed spots to the front and rear covers (see images). The gilt titling remains very bright on the spine. The text block is lightly toned. There is a mild production crease on the main text block edge. Some offsetting to the front and rear fly papers is present. The 16 pages of adverts (as called for) are present to the rear and have some mild spotting but otherwise the pages are very clean with just the very occasional spot. There are no inscriptions. NO wrapper present. Housed in a custom russet solander box with gilt titling to the spine. A key title of the 20th century and to many scholars, one of the great novels of all time. The first UK edition is extremely scarce to find in any condition. This is a very attractive copy and as such is highly collectable with such attributes. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
