Complete in three volumes, Peake was writing a fourth novel, Titus Awakes, at the time of his death in 1968 which was subsequently completed by his widow and published in 2011. With illustrations throughout. A fantasy series about the inhabitants of Castle Gormenghast, a sprawling, decaying, Gothic structure. This set includes: Titus Groan, Gormenghast, and Titus Alone. The series has received widespread acclaim from the speculative fiction community and was included in Fantasy: The 100 Best Books, Modern Fantasy: The 100 Best Novels and 100 Must Read Fantasy Novels as one of the greatest fantasy works of the twentieth century. Written and illustrated by Mervyn Laurence Peake, an English writer, artist, poet, and illustrator best known for these works. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light fading to the spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the first and last few pages. Very Good Indeed
