DS. DS. 1pg. 15 ½” x 9 ¾”. February 23, 1818. No place. A document signed “DeWitt Clinton” appointing William Hogan an Aide-de-Camp “with all the rights, privileges and authorities thereunto belonging.” William Hogan (1792-1874) was an United States Congressman who served from 1831 to 1833. The document has a dark signature and a paper seal adhered by wax. The document was separated along the vertical fold and it has been professionally repaired with archival tape; it is in very good condition.
