Good only in original red cloth with gilt panels and a stamped illustration on the front cover - wear to the covers, some spine slant, corners bumped, etc. (the blank pages at the beginning and end were used for arithmetic problems - in pencil) . First edition. The title story is about silver mining in Virginia City, Nevada - but this includes a lot more, as the subtitle indicates. Includes a frontispiece., and over 200 illustrations by W.L. Sheppard, Frank Merrill and others. 261 pp plus a final illustration. Slightly oversized.
