About This Item

Heritage Press. Hardcover. Verry Good/none. 1967. Comes with slipcase, no dustjacket. Slipcase shows just minor wear and soiling, and just a bit of spotting at the top. Cover is faded along the spine, but the color on the front and back covers are still vibrant. Three small, less than 1/4" spots are on the front cover near the top corner. A bit of denting at the top of the spine, but the corners are still sharp and edges show very little wear. Overall, the binding is still tight except for a bit of loosness between pages 6 and 7 and 10 and 11. All pages appear clean and crisp. Comes with Heritage Club "Sandglass", a 4 page insert about the book, which is also clean and crisp.Standard shipping for U.S. orders is by media mail. Synopsis

Great Expectations is a classic novel by Charles Dickens, published in 1861. It tells the story of Pip, a young orphan boy brought up by his abusive sister and her blacksmith husband in rural England. Pip dreams of becoming a gentleman and escaping poverty, but his life takes a dramatic turn when he receives a large fortune from an anonymous benefactor. As he rises in society, he becomes involved with a host of colorful characters, including the eccentric Miss Havisham and her adopted daughter Estella, and learns valuable lessons about love, loyalty, and the true meaning of happiness. The novel is considered one of Dickens' greatest works and a masterpiece of English literature.
