Light fade to spine with ownership signature to front upper right corner of cover. Light rubbing to corner at head of spine. Printed border to front filled in with blue pen. Book clean throughout. A good copy.

Synopsis

The Great Hunger is a long poem by Patrick Kavanagh, published in 1942. In this poem, the main subject Patrick Maguire and his old maid sister while away the years trying to raise a prosperous farm.  The looming ghost of their mother and the long arm of the Church cling to them like mist as they sink into despair and impotence on their small Irish farm.
