Ex-Library copy - library stamp on title page - no other library markings. Binding tight, text clean. John Parker delivered the 1964 Burton Lecture at the 90th annual meeting of the Historical Society of Michigan at Flint. His subject was the dream of empire by a dedicated British subject, Jonathan Carver, who was one of the early (1766-1768) explorers of the mid-West, Specifically the Great Lakes area and its waterways.
