Tall 8vo, approximately 260 x 165 mm, 10¼ x 6½ inches, 34 tinted lithographs by Vincent Brooks, 3 folding, 4 full page line diagrams and many small text illustrations, pages: xxiv, 1-431, original publisher's pebbled green cloth, gilt lettering to spine, blind decoration to covers, pale yellow endpapers. Binding rubbed, slight wear to head and tail of spine, head of lower hinge has 15 mm (¾ inch) split and 3 other tiny holes, lower cover has pale patchy fading and stains, corners slighty worn and slight shelf wear to edges, inner paper hinges cracked, pale offset from folding frontspiece to title page, otherwise a very good copy.
