Boston: Little, Brown & Co, 1922. Espionage and intrigue in futuristic 1934 England. Basis for the 1924 movie starring Sessue Hayakawa. First U.S. edition. Bumped and rubbed with wear at the edges, damp stain to the lower front corner with drip marks to the front board. Spine darkened and slightly cocked, front hinge cracked, rear loose. Previous owner's name on the front end paper, dated June 1922. Jacket rubbed with chips and tears, including a long tear down the front flap fold and 1/2" loss to the spine ends. Upper edge has been trimmed with pinking shears for some unimaginable reason. Spine sunned, price intact, in Brodart.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Fair.
