Patterned lithographed floral ornament end papers. Heavily illustrated with pictures and photos. Some of the illustrations are in color. The anniversary edition dedicated to the social reform of Russian society and serfs in the past and the present. Contents : Volume 1.; The first volume contains articles about the beginning of enslavement of peasants, farmers in the XVII century, Catherine II, and the peasant question.; Volume 2.; The second volume describes the peasant unrest before the XIX century, the laws of the peasants under the Emperors Paul I and Alexander I, the opponents of serfdom at the beginning of the XIX century.; Volume 3.; The era of "official nationality" and serfdom, serf intelligentsia fortress factory landlord economy on the eve of the reform.; Volume 4. Serfdom in folk poetry, Russian society and the reform of 1861, the course of the peasant reform.
